Are you looking on learning how you can use Facebook marketing to bring traffic to your Shopify store? In this blog post, I am going to share with you 8 different ways you can use Facebook to drive more traffic to your Shopify store.
Method #1 – Facebook Pages
A Facebook page is a dedicated page to a business, community or group. This should be considered a basic step in Facebook marketing, however, I am surprised a lot of stores do not have a Facebook Page setup. You should have one set up for your Shopify store and if you do let your existing customers know on your website or by email. You want to use your existing customers to share your product which will drive in new customers to your Shopify store.
This is a great way to keep in touch with existing customers and makes it easier for them to share your content with friends and family. Sharing valuable content that your users can share will help you drive more social media traffic.
Method #2 – Facebook Shop
Your Shopify store can easily show your products on your Facebook page. This is called a Facebook Shop, where you have a tab showing off your Shopify stores products. Shopify has created a tool to make it easier to share your products on different channels like Facebook, check it out at Shopify create tools.
A Facebook Page and Facebook Shop are the basic you should do on Facebook, even if you do not do anything else. The bulk of the work is a one-time effort and people do review your store on Facebook.
Method #3 – Facebook groups
Looking for places with like-minded people, then look no further than a Facebook group. The first rule of being part of any group is add value, once you are done that, then add more value. Share your expertise around what your product can do for people without directly selling. Build a reputation as the person that people to go for your product. Another benefit is that in conversations you may learn new ways your product helps people leading to more markets you can sell to.
As a business owner Facebook groups also are great for being around like-minded people in running an ecommerce or Shopify store.

Method #4 – Facebook lives
Facebook live is when you host a live video on your Facebook page. You can use Facebook live to launch new products, show off the benefit of people buying existing products or teasing people about new products you are releasing.
Make your Facebook live in a way that the content is timeless, you can reuse content like on other social media platforms that accept videos.
Method #5 – Facebook Stories
Facebook stories are short term posts, they will go away after 24 hours. You can always have fun with these and use them in promoting on Facebook. This is a great method to engage existing Facebook users. I would experiment with posting and see what people like and keep tracking and show more based on the response you get. You should not use stories for content that you want to stay on your page or people to find, only use it for something short term.
Method #6 – Facebook Ads
Facebook Ads is a paid promotion on Facebook. I would suggest you do this if you really know your numbers or don’t mind spending for gathering/testing data or you know your numbers. This alone is a long topic and can be a full blog post or course on its own. Keep in mind that you can waste a lot money very fast using Facebook Ads, therefore put limits and always monitor and track what you are spending. Facebook has a lot of users and can be very targeted to your niche by testing and fine-tuning your Facebook Ads.
You must know your cost for a customer and be prepared to put in an ongoing effort. You can lose a lot quicker or you can scale fast here.

Method #7 – Facebook influencer
Facebook influencer is someone who is trusted by followers and who can post and get a large # of views on a post. Offer them an affiliate commission, exclusive deals or merchandise. You would really have to test and know your market to understand what would work, this may take testing out a few affiliates.
Just because a group has a huge number of members does not mean you will get better results than a smaller, more interactive group. You should also know the groups following and how effective the results are. Check previous posts and previous products promoted. Ask them how previous products performed and what type of products. The great thing is that all the information can be found by looking at previous posts.
Make sure you are paying attention to the numbers and tracking clickthrough, conversions, sales, and even quality of the user.
Method #8 – Facebook Contest
A Facebook contest is running a contest on your Facebook page or in a group. The goal of a contest is not to get new customers, however engage existing customers to build your Facebook page following and brand exposure. Ask people to like and share your Facebook page to enter. This helps your page get more likes which means more people will see future posts.
One example of a Facebook contest I did was in a group, where I gave away my product. This helps people know more about what I have to offer. The group organizer changed the banner and make the contest an announcement, you can ask them to this, not all will do it. I would not make it a sales pitch, consider this more brand awareness. Most organizers like fun ways to keep their group engaged.
